Whether you’re tuning in this Sunday for the football, the commercials, or maybe just the puppy bowl, we should all agree the big game might as well be an American holiday. For me, it’s all about the half-time performance and commercials. I’m more likely to win trivia night on what year Destiny’s Child made a comeback during halftime than who won the super bowl last year. Or worse yet, who’s playing this year. Not proud, just honest.
Regardless of my interest level though, I’ll always show up for the food. We all have that in common, right? It’s the week Velveeta profits the most and the day our New Year’s resolutions suffer. Chips, cheese, bread, hot sauce, fried chicken… hungry yet?
I am. And I’ll stick to my favorites.
You can never go wrong with a good dip and tortilla chips. Since I’ve already shared my two go-to’s over this past year, I’ve linked them below. My infamous guacamole and my mom’s recipe for cheesy hamburger dip will please any crowd. Both quick, very simple to make and travel well if you’re headed out to a party.
What’s your favorite food for the big game?
Enjoy!

Ah I literally get so excited for “game time” just for the food LOL you can ALWAYS find me at the food table. But for me it’s all the finger foods, nachos, guac, dips, wings, steak&cheese egg rolls, mozz sticks….everything. I’m just constantly snacking lol What is that second dip you have and where can I find the recipe!!

The U2 halftime show back in 2002 is still my all-time favorite (Prince in 2007 is an honorable mention). Their performance was also the best 9/11 tribute.

I do remember that one – it was great! I’m looking forward to Lady Gaga tonight!

I was actually very surprised the NFL (a very conservative organization, often called the No Fun League) would select such a controversial and outspoken entertainer for the half time show. I’m also looking forward to her performance.

Ok, that was pretty kick-ass by Lady G

Yes, it was! I loved it – Gaga rocked that stadium!

Any time a performer literally drops in from the ceiling, you know you’re in for something special
