Our first weekend getaway of 2018 is right around the corner, and I cannot wait to arrive in Winter Park, Colorado for a much needed ski weekend. Seriously, the mountains are calling so loud and adamantly, I can hardly sit still. And as I’m preparing for our laid-back, mountainside retreat, I’ve realized my current outfit choices mimic what I’ll be wearing in the snowy village. Actually, almost my entire winter wardrobe falls into that category. I am un-apologetically more casual in the winter and nothing makes me happier than dressing in layers and great gear. In addition to cozy winter layers, I have a collection of Burton womens outerwear ready to hit the slopes and the bars & restaurants after. Ever since my first experience down a run on my first rental snowboard, I fell in love with the sport… and all the brands (like Burton) that support it.
Nothing beats functional gear that still looks great…
…and that’s exactly what you get with Burton. The modern designs mixed with the latest gear technology make for a stellar combo on almost all their pieces. I bought my first light green Burton shell because Kelly Clark (she’s amazing) endorsed it and I’ve never looked back. From my first board to my newest pair of snowboarding pants, I’ve been pretty brand loyal and don’t see that ever changing. I bought this yellow Sadie jacket for our Iceland adventure – technically a rain jacket, but the waterproof feature will be perfect on the slopes, too. The bright color makes it a stand-out piece while the features keep me dry and comfortable. And who can resist a cozy hoodie that makes for a perfect mid-weight layer? I’ll admit, I definitely can’t.
The beanie and boots aren’t Burton, but they’re equally great. I pick up pom beanies anywhere – I love them, I can’t have enough of them, I constantly wear one in the winter. But since I picked up this Verma wool one while shopping in Reykjavik, it’s extra special. And while it is warm, I’ll keep this one off the slopes and wear it out at night. The sleek design and fun pop of faux fur makes a great “topper” to any winter outfit.
Do you have any brands you’re loyal to?

Very nice! A getaway sounds good right about now! I can’t wait to hear all about it. In the meantime, your yellow jacket is lovely. I am attracted to the color a lot and it goes so well with the rest of your outfit. I own two pom beanies now and I too can’t get enough. It keeps my head so warm, perfect for the cold and rainy weather as of late. Happy Thursday my friend and hope your week has been fabulous!
