Even though the calendar says otherwise, I always think summer officially starts after Memorial Day weekend. Anyone else? And if these H&M striped shorts don’t scream my readiness for summer activities, I don’t know what will.
I fell in love with this burgundy/navy/white striped high-waist pair the instant I spotted them. Besides the rompers and jumpsuits I can’t seem to get enough of, I always stock up on a few pairs of fun shorts for the summer. Comfortable, casual and easy to style. Gap and Old Navy are two places I typically shop for jean shorts and chino shorts, but when I’m looking for a pattern or high-waist option, H&M is a go-to. Great prices for trendy items that may or may not stick around for multiple seasons.
Besides digging out my shorts inventory, lately I have been eager to restyle some old graphic tees I can never seem to part with. Doesn’t everyone love a good graphic tee? Especially an old, worn one. And these H&M striped shorts seemed to be a perfect match to complete a summer-ready outfit. Rather than throwing on a pair of jean shorts, a patterned high-waist pair will elevate the look – so fun for concerts, farmer’s markets, grill outs, or beers on a patio.
My “Real Women Drink Coors Light” tee was a gift from my brother years ago when he toured the Coors Light brewery in Golden, CO. Both having a love for the mountain brew, it was the perfect gift and I’ve continued to pull it out multiple times a summer as it always seems fitting for those warm, summer nights. And with graphic tees, they tend to get better with age. Not finding the exact tee online, I’ve linked similar ones below.
I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend!
