bow tie.

Our tree is up and stockings are hung – the holiday season has officially begun at our house and I couldn’t be more excited.  If you follow me on Instagram, you know we got our first real pine this year.  Even though we’ll be picking up needles for the rest of eternity, I’m truly enjoying the fresh scent and nostalgia it brings to our quaint home.  I have a lot of favorite things about Christmas, but decorating the tree ranks high on the list, right alongside gifting.

Every year, I look forward to gift giving and the shopping that comes with it.  Finding a perfect gift for that special someone is so fun and while I’m out and about, a few items for myself tend to slip into the cart.  You got me again Target.  But, when they’re as cute as this knit hat and floral scarf, how can you say no?

The skinny scarf from the 90s is back and I’m obsessed.  You can wear one draped like a winter scarf or make a short one into a choker, but the bow tie is my personal favorite.  It’s a perfect way to dress up any collared shirt and can be tied tight or loose for a different look.  This floral print grabbed my eye right away, knowing winter outfits sometimes need a little color, but I’m also eyeing a velvet one for the holiday season.

Simply say “faux fur” and I’m in.  This Kenneth Cole New York jacket I scored on sale has become a winter staple.  Dress it up, dress it down, it’s chic for any layered outfit.
