Now that Labor Day weekend has come and gone, I am officially transitioning my wardrobe to fall. It can be a slow move, especially if you depend on weather patterns to determine your outfits – still over 80 here in Iowa – but a couple tips may help you take a step forward.
As I mentioned in my last fashion post, incorporating darker colors is a great place to start, but you can still have fun with some of those not-worn-enough summer pieces. I originally bought this Banana Republic side-slit maxi skirt with the intention of wearing it to many summer functions, but as the months sped up, there it sat. I’m in luck though because it looks just as great paired with a crop top for summer as it does with a light sweater for fall. I love how the pink stripes contrast with the navy blue and the wrap-around design makes the skirt comfortable and easy to wear. Unlike any other BR purchase I’ve made, this does run a bit big, so I recommend sizing down.
Oh, and did I mention it’s on sale?
Also, I’m not buying into the “no white after Labor Day” nonsense. It works well into fall!
House of Harlow 1960 is one of my go-to jewelry lines. I got these sunburst studs a few years back, but they still offer similar styles!
Do you have any summer pieces that work for fall?
