sneakers.

My husband has been trying to get me into a pair of tennis shoes for years.  And I actually mean 5 solid years, because that’s how long we’ve been together.

My last pair of sneakers were purchased in 2009 and I clearly remember having one preference – the cheapest.  I bought this pair for my occasional fitness goal throughout the year, but to be honest, I prefer workouts you can do barefoot.

The collection of shoes in my closet revolves around heels and boots.  Some of those heels being practical and others being more of a collector’s item.  Each pair has a home in the box they came in, nicely stacked on the floor of our closet – it’s an OCD issue when it comes to my investments.

I know the fashion sneaker craze has been around for a while and according to the who’s who in the industry, sneaks are now ok for work with pencil skirts, boyfriend jeans for groceries and jumpsuits for lazy weekends.
I would have never guessed, but it got me thinking.

Is it time to answer my husband’s plea and buy a pair of sneakers?!

ShopStyle activated this thought today when their daily email highlighted a sale on various designer sneaks.  If Valentino is down with this athletic trend, I guess I can cave.

Of course, my basic 7.5 size is sold out on almost all the good sale styles, so I turned to Zappos to save the day.  Here are my favorites:

So, should I take the sneaker plunge?  Maybe pigs do fly.

Cheers and TGIF.
